Is the Gospel on Your Blog? 3

When I started Missiologically Thinking one year ago, I knew that I was going to be writing for a niche within the Evangelical sub-culture.  Over the past year, however, I have discovered that there are more folks reading my posts than just the group of believers for whom I desired to write.

While the vast majority of those who visit this site are followers of Jesus, it came to my attention that some who visit do not have a relationship with Him.  So, a few months ago, I decided to make a change to the site.

My Bad Assumption

You may have noticed that in the right side-bar, there is a button titled, “The Good News for You.”  It is simply a link to a clear biblical presentation of the hope, blessing, and salvation from sin that is found in Jesus.

I originally thought that the design for the site did not need such a link.  “After all,” I surmised, “only a small number of believers will be interested in my writings.”  Now, recognizing that some of my dear readers have not come to experience the good news the Lord freely offers, I wished I would have included such a link when Missiologically Thinking was first launched.

Change Your Blog

So, my exhortation to you bloggers today is to add to your blog a permanent link to a simple, and biblically-based gospel presentation.  And put it in a prominent place–don’t hide it under a bushel (or miles below at the bottom of your screen using a size 4 font).  You never know who will stop by on their journey.  Use your platform to share the good news, even if you write mainly for a believing audience.

The Link for You to Consider

I also want to share a specific word with my friends who are not followers of Jesus.

I truly thank you for your time and for stopping by.  You are welcome here.  I am sure some of my posts sound crazy and do not always make sense (I use a great deal of insider language because of my primary readers.).  And some of my posts may even be offensive to you.  If so, please note, I do not write to offend you.  My writings are related to important matters, both temporal and eternal.

If you have not taken a moment to check out the aforementioned link at the top right, I want to encourage you to do so.  You will be taken to a pdf that will share about the love and grace of God, which is the only hope for now and throughout eternity.  He loves you and offers forgiveness to you through Jesus, but you–like me–must turn from your direction in life and follow Him.  Check it out.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at jpayne@brookhills.org or 205-313-7728.  I would be glad to talk with you about the hope and peace that Jesus offers.  I am praying for you.
