This year marks the 100th anniversary of the publication of Allen’s book Missionary Methods: St. Paul’s or Ours? This widely-read publication has influenced many people over the last century. It is one of the top-five most influential books on my ministry. Allen’s writings as a whole have shaped much of my missiology.
In recognition of this historic event, I am publishing a book on Allen and his missiology. And you are the first to read of the details here.
Lord willing, I will be releasing a 130 page book at Amazon this month. Stay tuned. I finished this work a while ago, and now is the time to publish it. Yes, I am self-publishing this book for two reasons: I want to get this book out to the public as soon as possible, and most publishers today are not interested in a book about this deceased Anglican priest–I know, I asked around.

I have covered the gamut of Allen’s writing career, including both his popular and obscure publications.
If you are an Allen fan, then this book is for you. I believe you will like it. If you are not an Allen fan, then I believe this book will assist you in correcting the error of your ways. 🙂

J.D., Count me in as one who is looking forward to your book. Someone has said that Roland Allen is re-discovered every 25 years or so. In 1970-71, my mentor at Fuller’s SWM, Art Glasser, encouraged me to write my master’s thesis: “Roland Allen, Donald McGavran and Church Growth”. That has shaped my missiology ever since. Some fine papers were presented at the Northwest Regional EMS gathering this past Saturday. You at EMS are to be commended for the choice of Allen’s work for this year. BTW, have you seen the 2003 article, “The Continuing Relevance of Roland Allen” by his grandson, Hubert Allen?
