The present Syrian crisis has left 13 million children without schools. No school = no traditional education. But who says the present paradigm that brought us this far has to be the one to carry us into the future (Lord willing)?
I read an article of a plan to use smartphone technology to deliver education to Syrian children. The present challenge has been identified, resources assessed, the present paradigm of education has to be retired (given the circumstances), and a new model must be attempted.
Innovation is critical not only in times of crisis, but in ministry as well.
As Jesus builds His Church, change will happen. As the dynamic Spirit leads us, change will occur. And we–the Church–are expected to change. The Church changed in the first century. She must in the 21st century.
When the present paradigm is not working as well as it did in the past, it is a matter of Kingdom stewardship that we:
- Pray and Fast
- Identify the Present Challenge
- Assess Present Resources for Use
- Revise or Retire Present Paradigm
- Try a Variety of New Approaches
- Aggressively Evaluate and Revise New Approaches
