Reaching the Nations Conference 4

CqEMIFuWIAAmDVD.jpg_largeLord willing, the Reaching the Nations in North America conference kicks off in Brentwood, Tennessee this Friday and Saturday. I do hope you will be there. Registration is closed. You may watch the event at the International Mission Board’s Facebook page. You may also follow along at

I am so thankful for the collaborative effort of several agencies in my denomination to make this event happen. Many brothers and sisters have been working very hard. To my knowledge, there has never been a conference of this size hosted by Southern Baptists on reaching unreached people groups in North America.

Following India and China, the United States is home to the third largest number of unreached people groups in the world. Canada is home to the fourth largest number (new findings moved Canada from 5th to 4th place since Strangers Next Door was published in 2012).

I repeat: The United States is home to the third largest number of unreached people groups in the world. Canada is home to the fourth largest number.

Migration and mission converge to create a new frontier in Kingdom expansion. For most of us, the peoples next door are strangers. There is something missionally malignant if we are willing to make great sacrifices to travel the world but unwilling to cross the street. If the Divine Maestro has orchestrated the movement of the nations to our communities, then we should know how to respond (Acts 17:26-27).

Looking forward to being with you in Tennessee this weekend–or online. I am praying for you. Please pray for us.

The peoples are on the move. The Spirit is on the move. Is the Church on the move?

Until the strangers next door are strangers no more!
