Month of Book Birthdays

Kingdom ExpressionsAuthors are strange birds. We keep up with minute details about our books. And one detail we know well is the publication date.

My thirteenth book is to be released later this year. While I know the years when my books were published, I do not know the exact dates of publication. It recently came to my attention that three of my books share birthdays in September. So, instead of inviting you to three parties, I decided to write this birthday post. No gifts please, but feel free to purchase these books.

Maybe that is because it is a reference work, part of a Thomas Nelson series. Regardless, if you are interested in the mosDeveloping a Strategy for Missionst significant evangelical movements and trends of the late 20th/early 21st centuries related to global disciple making, then you need to check out this book. Scan the table of contents at Amazon and you’ll understand what is addressed.

Developing a Strategy for Missions: A Biblical, Cultural, and Historical Introduction was released September 15, 2013. This book was co-authored with a friend and former professor, John Mark Terry. We wanted to write a book that built upon the foundation established by Dayton and Fraser in 1980 (Planning Strategies for World Evangelization), but designed for a new generation. Please tell your Korean friends this book is available in Korean.

Missionary Methods: Research, Reflections, and Realities was released September 16, 2013. CraiMissionary Methodsg Ott and I edited this book for the Evangelical Missiological Society. Thank you for participating with me in this celebration. It is an honor to write for you. I hope in some way the contents of my books are a blessing and help to you in your Kingdom labors. And as always, thank you for recommending my writings to those in your networks.
