Diwali: Festival of Lights

Yesterday marked the beginning of the largest Hindu festival, Diwali. This is a time of celebrating the victory of good over evil, light over darkness. Its significance to Hindus has been compared to the significance of Christmas to Christians.

Of all countries, India is home to the largest number of unreached people groups. The South Asian Indian diaspora (as well as other Hindus) is scattered across the world, with large numbers in North America. So, it is good to know a little about Diwali.

Here is an article from CNN on 6 things you should know about the holiday.

If 6 is not enough, here is a Christianity Today article on 10 things you should know.

Here is a brief article providing some important details about Diwali.

Please join me in praying for the Hindu populations across the world. May they come to to know the true God Who is light (1 John 1:5); may they be called out of their darkness and into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9).
