Least-Reached Places in the US

Last month, I shared on my YT Channel that I plan to release a study on the least-reached geographical locations in the United States at the state, metropolitan, and county levels.

This information will be shared with and given to the attendees of the Great Commission Research Network and Exponential Conference where I am scheduled to speak in March.

For those unable to attend, I plan to share the information following those gatherings (At this time, slots are still open for the GCRN gathering and it includes a ticket to the sold-out Expo. Conf.).

What I am Giving Away

If you want to know where the least-reached areas of the United States may be found—and where unreached people groups likely reside in those locations—this is for you.

My research team and I have been combing through a large amount of data and running calculations on evangelical concentrations. This massive study considers the available data from 1980 through 2020, with 2020 being the most current data available.

Examining evangelicals, the report and presentation show four important categories: 1) total percentages; 2) total numbers; 3) total number of churches; and 4) church to population ratios in every state, 50 least-reached metro areas, and 100 least-reached counties.

In addition, I will release the corresponding file that contains the 50 most-reached metro areas and counties including the aforementioned four categories.

We will also show where potential unreached people groups reside in these areas.

It is our prayer churches, agencies, and church planting teams, will be more strategic in their disciple making and church planting efforts in this country.

A Blast from the Past

Some of you will remember in 2009 I released a report and a large PowerPoint file that contained the most current data at that time. In fact, I started this website to give away that study which resulted in churches, church planters, denominations, and networks turning their attentions toward the least-reached areas of this country and Canada. Later, I also wrote and gave away a small, now outdated and unavailable book, Unreached Peoples and Least Reached Places. Next month’s release will be along similar lines as these, though more extensive.
